Start-up Day with the Business & IP Centre The event takes place on 4 November at 6:30PM. In the year that commemorates the 30th anniversary of the first Gulf War and the 80th anniversary of the SAS, Sheffield born SAS veteran Des Powell will be appearing in Conversation at Leeds Central Library to give a gripping account of his new book SAS Bravo Three Zero. Author event: in conversation with Des Powell Fancy having a go at making your own Christmas crafts and decorations? We'll be joined by textile artist Hayley Mills-Styles who will run you through embroidering a festive wreath, felt and LED decorations. We're getting in the festive spirit with lots of fun activities and workshops planned throughout November. Find out if the story will end with a happily-ever-after and book your tickets here. The Princess and the Pea will run every weekend from 4 December until 18 December. We'll be joined by three musical curators to tell you the story of an indecisive prince searching for a princess. or those who have trouble sleeping at night! Join this special production of the Princess and the Pea at Leeds Central Library as Room 700 gets transformed into the Museum of Forgotten Things. Ask at your local library for details in your area. The sessions are perfect for under 5s and their families. If you're looking for fun activities to do with young children, join us at your nearest library for an hour of stories, rhymes and fun songs. Our popular story and rhyme sessions are returning as part of Ready Steady Readers. Children will get a gold star each time they come into the library and a certificate once they have six stars on their race track. Grab a Ready Steady Readers booklet from your local library to get top tips for making the most out of reading with your family. The Ready Steady Readers programme is back to get pre-school children enjoying books and reading. The full range of support and services available in our libraries will continue as before, and the opening times of the Community Hubs will stay the same. Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey. Sunday was the day when people were least likely to visit a library, so we will no longer open on Sundays. People told us that they wanted to see more consistent opening hours, and longer opening on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings. We have introduced these new opening hours to reflect what library users asked for in a public survey that we ran earlier this year.
